KUMBINSIDO si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na ebidensiya ng pangmatagalang relasyon ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ang kauna-unahang US trade mission sa bansa.
Habang ang misyon ay bunga rin ng kanilang paghaharap ni US President Joe Biden noong isang taon.
Bago tumulak kahapon sa Germany ay hinarap muna ni Pangulong Marcos si US Department of Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo at mga delegado ng Presidential Trade and Investment Mission (PTIM) kahapon sa Malacanang.
Ayon sa Punong Ehekutibo, pahiwatig ito na malaking investment opportunities para sa bansa.
“Today’s gathering not only signifies a meeting of officials, but also celebrates the enduring relations between the Philippines and the United States—ties that have been built on shared sacrifices, mutual support and unwavering respect,” ani Marcos.
Ang PTIM to the Philippines ay una nang inanunsiyo sa expanded bilateral meeting nina Pangulong Marcos at US President Joe Biden nang tanggapin ng huli ang Philippine president noong May 2023.
Ito ang kinumpirma ni Secretary Raimondo noong November 2023 nang magkaroon ng pulong ang dalawang lider sa Export Council ni Biden.
“The announcement of the intent to dispatch a Presidential Trade and Investment Mission into the Philippines was made at the White House last year, and less than a year later, we proudly witness the missions come to fruition here in Malacañan,” anang Pangulong Marcos.
Natalakay rin sa pulong ng dalawang leader ang mutual interest na nagdiriin ng patuloy na kooperasyon ng dalawang bansa.
“In our prior discussions, we addressed many areas of mutual interest, emphasizing the need for continued cooperation and arrangements on various fronts. This event also offers us the opportunity to highlight the positive economic strides that we made last year and showcase diverse investment opportunities in the country,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo.
