The United Print Media Group (UPMG) Philippines, an association of publication companies producing broadsheets, tabloids, magazines and books, join the management and staff of Abante News Group in condemning the dastardly and criminal attack on its printing facilities last night in Paranaque. As four unidentified men barged into the premises and set machines and materials on fire, it is assumed that such was an attempt to coerce news personnel from doing their job of covering and reporting events and news stories. UPMG upholds truth and responsibility in news reportage and firmly stands against any attempt to hamper or curtail anyone in the print media industry from doing so. The Group also appeals for authorities to solve the crime and to bring it to a just conclusion soonest.
