SI Alyssa Valdez ang team captain ng Philippine women’s volleyball team na sasabak sa 32nd Southeast Asian Games sa Cambodia sa susunod na buwan, ayon sa Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF).
Makakasama ni Valdez sa women’s team sina Creamline teammates Julia Melissa Morado-De Guzman, Kyla Llana Atienza, Celine Elaiza Domingo, Jessica Margarett Galanza, Diana Mae Carlos at Michele Theresa Gumabao.
Nasa koponan din na gagabayan ni Brazilian Jorge Edson Souza De Brito sina Maria Angelica Cayuna at Glaudine Troncoso ng Cignal, Kathleen Faith Arado at Dell Palomata ng PLDT, Cherry Rose Nunag at Katrina Mae Tolentino ng Choco Mucho at Mylene Paat ng Chery Tiggo.
Magiging captain naman ng men’s volleball team si Vince Raphael Mangulabnan. Makakasama ni Mangulabnan sa koponan ang kanyang AMC-Cotabato teammates na sina Joshua Umandal, Lloyd Josafat, Kim Harold Dayandante, Vince Patrick Lorenzo atbJayvee Sumagaysay.
Nasa koponan din sina National University-Archipelago Builders’s Rwenzmel Taguibolos at Leo Ordiales, Cignal’s, Manuel Sumanguid III, Iloilo’s Jade Alex Disquitado at University of Santo Tomas’s Jay Rack Dela Noche.
Kinumpleto nina Filipino-Americans Steven Charles Rotter, Cyrus Justin De Guzman at Michael Raymund Vicente ang koponan na gagabayan ng isa pang Brazilian, Sergio Valadares Veloso.
Samantala, pangungunahan nina Sisi Rondina at Jovelyn Gonzaga, gold medalists sa Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures sa Subic noong nakaraang December, ang women’s beach volleyball squad na binubuo rin nina Bernadeth Pons at Floremel Rodriguez.
Ang men’s team ng beach volleyball na gagabayan ni Joao Luciano Simao Barbosa ay kinabibilangan nina Alnakran Abdilla, Jaron Requinton, Jude Garcia at James Buytrago.
“These teams are composed of perhaps the most formidable rosters to date with each and everyone of these athletes dedicated and determined to rise to the challenge in Cambodia,” pahayag ni PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara.
“With the skills given and dedication to flag and country considered, our coaches put premium on chemistry, on how these players would blend based on the competitions and challenges of the SEA Games,” dagdag ni Suzara.
Ang men’s volleyball coaching staff ay kinabibilangan nina Arthur Odjie Mamon (assistant coach), Rommel Abella (assistant coach), Mark Gil Alfafara (trainer), Melchizedek Samonte (strength and conditioning coach) at Jerome Guhit (team manager).
Kinumpleto naman nina Sherwin Meneses (assistant coach), Cherry Rose Macatangay (assistant coach) Raffy Mosuela (trainer), Grace Gomez (strength at conditioning coach) at Ma. Fe Moran (team manager) ang women’s team coaching staff.
Ang coaching staff ni Barbosa ay sina Romnick Rico (assistant coach) at Rosemarie Prochina (team manager) sa women’s team at Rhovyl Verayo (assistant coach) sa men’s squad kasama si John Paulo Agir bilang strength at conditioning coach.
