WALANG Chinese firms sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs).
Ito ang inihayag ni Victor Padilla, senior manager ng policy and offshore gaming licensing division ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor), nang tanungin kung paano nakasisiguro ang ahensiya na sumusunod ang Chinese firms sa POGOs sa Philippines laws at nagbabayad ng tamang buwis.
“These are not Chinese corporations. These are offshore companies with local companies in the Philippines,” ani Padilla.
Aniya, ang POGOs ay hindi naman nagsisilbi lamang sa Chinese market, subalit tila kinontra ang kanyang sarili nang sabihing karamihan sa mga player ay Chinese.
“We are sure that a lot of players are Chinese because we all know that there are a lot of Chinese people all over the world and their culture is they like gambling,” ani Padilla.
“But it does not automatically mean that they are all from China. Players are mostly Chinese, but we are not sure if in fact they are all from China,” dagdag pa niya.
