INIHAYAG ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na walang conflict of interest sa pag-award sa half-billion-peso contract para sa 2022 election equipment sa F2 Logistics.
Sinabi ni Comelec spokesman James Jimenez na iniimbestigahan ng poll officials ang alegasyong conflict of interest sa F2 Logistics na sinasabing kompanyang may kaugnayan kay Dennis Uy, campaign donor ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte noong 2016 elections.
“It was found that there really were no grounds to say there was a conflict of interest,” sinabi ni Jimenez sa panayam.
“Why could it not be given to another bidder? Because our laws are very strict. You have a public bidding, you have rules you abide by, and when you have a lowest responsive bid, that’s where you award it to,” dagdag nito.
Nanawagan ang poll watchdog Kontra Daya sa Comelec na kanselahin ang kontrata sa F2 Logistics, dahil sa umano’y isyu ng propriety, at hindi na isyu ng legality.
