ISASAGAWA ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang 10th edition ng Women and Girls in Sports program nito sa Castillejos, Zambales sa Set. 19-22.
“This will be the final leg of the games for this year, in accordance with the country’s Gender and Development (GAD) Plan. We have chosen to partner with the local government of Castillejos for this event,” wika ni PSC Commissioner Celia Kiram, na siya ring oversight officer ng programa.
Mahigit sa 500 kababaihan at bata mula sa Castillejos ang inaasahang lalahok sa four-day event, sa pakikipagtulungan kina Mayor Eleanor De Jesus Dominguez at Family & Youth Head Councilor Maria Cecillia Felarca-Rafan.
Ayon kay Project Head Judith Laygo, isang coordination meeting ang idaraos ni Mayor Dominguez kasama ang sports officials mula sa naturang bayan sa susunod na linggo.
Inaanyayahan ang indigenous peoples ng munisipalidad na lumahok sa pitong sports na kinabibilangan ng women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, arm wrestling, tug-of-war, sack race, kadang-kadang sa kahoy at kadang-kadang sa bunot.
