NASA 10 volunteer doctors ng Philippine General Hospital (PGH) na ang nagbitiw sa trabaho.
Ito ang kinumpirma kahapon ni Dr. Jonas del Rosario, ang tagapagsalita ng Philippine General Hospital (PGH), na itinuturing na pinakamalaking COVID-19 referral hospital sa bansa.
Ayon kay del Rosario, iginagalang nila ang desisyon ng mga naturang doktor ngunit inaming ang resignasyon ng mga ito ay malaking kawalan sa kanilang pagamutan.
Hindi naman pinangalanan ni Del Rosario ang mga naturang doktor ngunit sinabing ang mga ito ay mula sa Department of Health (DOH) at kumikita ng P50,000 kada buwan.
“Wala naman po kaming masabi dahil nagtrabaho sila sa PGH and their decision to leave ay personal na po yun. We honor that. Nung nag-resign malaking kawalan po sa amin yun,” aniya pa, sa panayam sa telebisyon.
“Maybe I can just hypothesize, maybe napagod na rin, maaring ‘yung iba nagkakasakit, they probably look at the PGH, masyadong maraming trabaho, and they can probably be earning more if they just work outside,” dagdag pa niya.
Upang matugunan naman ang problema sa kakulangan ng manpower, sinabi ni Del Rosario na hiniling na ng director ng PGH na si Dr. Gap Legaspi, sa iba pang health workers mula sa ibang departamento na tumulong sa paglalapat ng lunas sa mga COVID-19 patients.
Gayunman, hindi pa rin aniya ito sapat, lalo na ngayong patuloy na dumarami ang mga naitatalang kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
