KUKUHA ang pamahalaan ng mahigit sa 26,000 health workers sa layuning makapagtalaga ng kahit isang health care professional sa bawat barangay.
Ayon sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM), inaprubahan nito ang paglikha ng 26,035 contractual positions, kabilang ang medical officers, dentists, medical technologists, nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, physical therapists, at midwives. Bagama’t contractual, tatanggap sila ng parehong benepisyo at bonuses na ipinagkakaloob sa mga regular na empleyado.
“[I]n addition to their salaries, the subject health workers will now receive benefits currently being received by a regular government personnel, such as personnel economic relief allowance, midyear bonus, yearend bonus, and cash gift, among others,” pahayag ng DBM.
Karamihan sa mga manggagawa ay itatalaga sa malalayo at mahihirap na lugar na kulang sa health care personnel.
Ito ay bahagi ng Human Resource for Health Deployment Program ng DOH na naglalayong makapagtalaga ng kahit isang health worker sa bawat barangay para masiguro ang availability ng health care services.
