LUMAGDA ang Department of Finance (DOF) at ang Asian Development Bank (ADB) sa tatlong loan agreements na nagkakahalaga ng $623 million upang suportahan ang mga inisyatiba ng gobyerno ng Filipinas sa imprustraktura, competition capacity-building, at youth employment.
Ang loan agreements ay nilagdaan nina Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III at ADB vice president for operation Ahmed Saeed.
Ang loan funding mula sa ADB ay tutustos sa $200 million para sa Infrastructure Preparation and Innovation Facility, $23.3 million sa Capacity Building to Foster Competition, at $400 million para sa Facilitating Youth School to Work Transition.
“These projects support important elements of the government’s reform agenda in critical areas: including infrastructure, supporting a healthy, competitive domestic market, and generating quality jobs for young Filipinos,” wika ni Saeed.
Ang tatlong loan deals ay bahagi ng $2.5-billion integrated package of new assistance ng ADB sa Filipinas para sa 2019, ang pinakamataas na lending program nito sa kasalukuyan.
Ang $200-million additional funding ay susuporta sa matagumpay na ‘Build Build Build’ infrastructure program ng pamahalaan sa nakalipas na tatlong taon.
“The loan will support the government with financing high quality and innovative project preparation for several transformative infrastructure projects including the Bataan–Cavite Interlink Bridge Project and the Metro Rail Transit Line 4 from Ortigas in Metro Manila to Taytay in eastern Rizal province,” aniya.
