AGUILAR, CARINGAL DEPUTY CDMs SA HANGZHOU

POC-Philippine Southeast Asian Games

IDINAGDAG ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) sina Alvin Aguilar ng wrestling at Donaldo Caringal ng volleyball bilang deputy chefs de mission sa Hangzhou 19th Asian Games na magbubukas, 42 araw mula ngayon.

Inanunsiyo ni POC President Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino nitong Martes ang appointments nina Aguilar, presidente ng Wrestling Association of the Philippines, at Caringal, secretary-general ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation.

Ayon kay Tolentino, ang dalawang karagdagang slots para sa deputy CDM ay inalok sa POC ng Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee.

Sasamahan nila sina sepak takraw head Karen Tanchanco-Caballero at ice skating chief Nikki Cheng bilang deputies kay chef de mission Rep. Richard Gomez ng fencing at modern pentathlon.

“The task of the CDM’s office in Hangzhou is not an easy one, considering the size of our delegation and the competition venues,” sabi ni Tolentino.

Ang Team Philippines ay binubuo ng 395 athletes na sasabak sa 37 sports sa Asian Games.

Ang Hangzhou ang ikatlong Chinese city na magiging host ng games matapos ang Beijing (1990) at Guangzhou (2010). Isasagawa ang mga kumpetisyon sa 44 venues, pangunahin sa Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Center at sa Deqing, Jinhua, Ningbo, Shaoxing at Wenzhou.
