(Aprub sa PEZA) P111-B PROJECTS SA ECOZONES

PUMALO sa P111.2 billion ang project approvals sa iba’t ibang economic zones sa buong bansa hanggang Sept. 7, 2023, ayon kay Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Tereso Panga.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ni Panga na ang latest investment approvals figure ay mas mataas ng 180.6 percent kumpara sa kaparehong panahon noong nakaraang taon.

Inaprubahan ng PEZA Board ang 27 proyekto, na nagkakahalaga ng P14 billion, sa kanilang miting noong Huwebes, Sept. 7.

Sa datos na ibinahagi ng PEZA, lumitaw na 11 sa mga proyektong ito ay export enterprises na matatagpuan sa Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Davao del Norte at Cebu.

Inaprubahan din ng Board ang limang information technology enterprises projects na matatagpuan sa
Makati, Cebu, Laguna, at Pasay; limang facilities enterprises sa Batangas at Laguna; dalawang ecozone projects sa Occidental Mindoro at Cavite; dalawang domestic enterprise projects sa Batangas at Laguna; at dalawang logistics enterprise projects sa Batangas at Cavite.

“So, we are on track on not just realizing our target for the year, which is 10 percent increase in investments. These are all aligned with the targets of other key industries such as electronics, IBPAP (IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines), where we expect also the Philippines to achieve a 6 to 7 percent growth rate, which is one of the best performing economies in the region,” sabi ni Panga.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang PEZA ay nag-oop- erate ng kabuuang 422 ecozones sa buong bansa, ang pinakamalaki ay sa Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Central Visayas, Cen- tral Luzon at Western Visayas.

Ang mga ecozone na ito ay host sa 4,372 locator companies.

“PEZA plays an important role in realizing this objective as we are the agency pioneering ecozone development in the country. Since its founding, PEZA has contributed PHP4.177 trillion to the national coffers. Ecozones have also played a crucial role in attracting foreign direct investments that generate the much-needed jobs,  exports, local and na- tional revenues, and other economic opportunities for the Philippines,” dagdag ni Panga.
