MATAPOS ang may dalawang buwan na pakikidigma ng Filipinas sa COVID-19 pandemic nanatiling zero case ang Philippine Army units sa Southern Tagalog.
Ayon kay Major General Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos Jr, Commander ng Philippine Army’s 2nd Infantry Division, sa loob ng dalawang buwang pagpapairal ng enhanced community quarantine ay nanatiling wala pang naitatalang kaso ng coronavirus infection sa hanay ng may 8,000 sundao at paramilitary forces sa ilalim ng kanyang pamumuno.
“Preserving the force has been one of our priorities during this pandemic so that we may be able to respond to any eventuality or exigency in relation to our mandate to serve the people and secure this part of our land”, paliwanag pa ni Burgos.
Sa likod ng kanilang record na COVID-19 “zero case” ay nagbukas pa ng additional quarantine facility sina Burgos sa Camp Capinpin para maging lima na ang kanilang existing quarantine facilities.
Ayon kay Major Dennis Caspe, Commanding Officer ng Army Station Hospital sa Camp Capinpin may kakayahan ang nasabing quarantine facility ” na maka accommodate ng 48 individuals probable or suspect.”
Sinabi pa ni Burgos na : “soldiers’ awareness complemented by the PPEs which we have been issuing since the beginning of the outbreak” as the reason behind the commendable record of his unit against Covid-19 “despite the fact that our area is the second hardest hit by the contagion next only to the NCR.” VERLIN RUIZ
