MATAPOS na lumasap ng shortfall sa unang limang buwan ng 2021 fiscal year, nakabawi ang Large Taxpayers Service (LTS) ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) makaraang mahigitan ang tax collection goal para sa buwan ng Hunyo.

Sa kanyang report kina Finance Secretary Carlos ‘Sonny’ Dominguez III at BIR Commissioner Caesar ‘Billy’ Dulay, sinabi ni Revenue Assistant Commissioner for Large Taxpayers Service Manuel Mapoy na sa tentative collections ay umabot sa P116,238,827.630.10 ang nairehistro nitong koleksiyon para lamang sa buwan ng Hunyo, mas mataas kung ihahambing sa nakaraang taong P79,225,598.282.51  o nag-increase ng P37,013,229.347.59  o 46.72 percent.

Ipinaliwanag ni Asst. Com. Mapoy na lumasap sila ng halos P25 bilyong shortfall sa tax collection matapos i-credit ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang excise tax collections nila sa petrolyo. Gayunman, inaayos na ng DOF ang status collections ng BIR at BOC para maitugma ang collection data ng Kawanihan at Aduana.

Paniwala ni Mr. Mapoy na sa mga susunod na buwan hanggang sa pagtatapos ng taong 2021 ay matatamo ng LTS ang iniatang sa kanilang tax collection goal.

Isa pang Revenue District Officer, si Arnold Galapia ng Quezon City North, ang nakapagtala ng panibagong tax record nang mahigitan niya ang goal na iniatang sa kanya ni QC-BIR Regional Director Albin Galanza para sa buwan ng Mayo na umabot sa P1,704,399.000.00, mas mataas kung ihahambing sa goal na P1,494,919.331.36  o nag-increase ng P209,479,668.64 o tinatayang 0.12.29 percent.

Sa buwan pa lamang ng Hunyo, nakapagrehistro na ng koleksiyon sa buwis na P7,229,439.000.00 si RDO Galapia.

Narito ang breakdown ng tax collections ni RDO Galapia sa kanyang report kay Director Galanza: January (P1,730,486.244.52), February  P1,100,135.381.99), March (P1,033,874.060.76), April (2,011,554.284.72) at May (1,494,919.331.36.

Ang iba pang RDOs sa Metro Manila at karatig-probinsya ay nakapagtala rin ng magandang tax collection performance gaya nina Revenue District Officers Rufo Ranario at Beth Seba, ng Makati District; East NCR District Officers Cynthia Lobo (Mandaluyong); Deogracias Villar (Pasig City); Vicente Gamad, Jr. (Marikina); QC District Rodel Buenaobra (Novaliches); Antonio Ilagan (QC South); Alma Celestial Cayabyab (Cubao) at Jun Mangubat (Bulacan).

Sinabi ni Dulay na sa kabila ng dinaranas na pandemic dahil sa COVID-19 ay unti-unti na ring nakakabangon ang Duterte government sa pagbagsak ng ekonomiya ng bansa.

Maraming pagkakataon na ring binalasa ni Dulay ang Kawanihan sa layuning mapalakas pa ang tax collections na humina dulot ng COVID-19 na nagresulta ng mga lockdown.

Sinabi ni Dulay na dahil sa unti-unti nang nanunumbalik ang magandang tax collection performance ng BIR, walang dahilan para hindi nila makuha ang tax collection goal ngayong fiscal year.
