MAHIGIT sa P73-billion na investment pledges ang naiuwi ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) mula sa tatlong linggong investment roadshow sa Europe.
Sa isang briefing sa Malacanang, sinabi ni Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual na ang roadshow ay nagresulta sa 48 potential investment leads.
“Of these, 16 have explicitly indicated investment values totaling more than P73 billion, potentially generating more than 4,300 jobs – these are direct jobs,” ani Pascual.
Paliwanag ng kalihim, ang pangunahing layunin ng roadshow ay ang matipon ang investment leads para sa priority sectors —manufacturing, high-value services, renewable energy, at research and development.
“Additionally, we sought to foster strategic partnerships and collaboration with the European government, particularly the EU, as well as businesses in the region,” ayon pa kay Pascual.
Aniya, limang bansa ang kanilang pinuntahan na kinabibilangan ng France, United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands at Germany.
Sa 16 positive leads, anim ang nasa renewable energy sector, anim sa information technology-business process management (IT-BPM) sector, dalawa sa manufacturing, at tig-isa sa construction services at acquisition.
Samantala, sa kabuuang 48 investment leads o commitments, 14 ang nasa larangan ng manufacturing and related services tulad ng sa training ar integrated circuit design, 16 sa IT-BPM, 15 sa renewable energy, at tatlo sa infrastructure and construction related services.
