Mukhang may namumuong iri­ngan sa pagitan ng dalawa nating Miss Universe title holders na sina Pia Wurtzbach at Catriona Gray.

Madalas maikum­para sina Pia (2015) at Catriona (2018) ay parehong Miss Universe titleholders, sa Pilipinas man o sa ibang bansa, lalo na nang kapwa sila dumalo sa Miss Universe South Africa 2021 pageant na ginanap sa Grand West Arena, Cape Town, noong October 16. Si Pia ay isa sa mga hurado habang backstage host naman si Catriona, kung saan kinoronahan si Lalela Mswane bilang Miss Universe South Africa 2021.

Nagkaroon ng pictorial na kinabibilangan ng tatlong Miss Universe titleholders at ng iba pang beauty queens mula sa South Africa. Kasama dito si Pia, Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza, Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, World 2014 Rolene Strauss, Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida, pero wala si Catriona.

Syempre, marami ang nagtanong kung bakit wala nga si Cat gayong nag-host naman ito sa pageant night. Agad namang sumagot si Pia at nagsabing:

“Hello everyone! Cat had an early flight this morning so she couldn’t make it to the shoot. I agree it would have been better if she was there but this was also a last minute plan from the org.” Sabi pa ni Pia, “She’s (Cat) also a very busy queen doing her work around the world. Maybe one day we can get all of us in frame with Demi [Leigh Nel Peters, 2017] and Iris [Mittenaere, 2016],” pagtukoy pa niya sa fellow Miss Universe titleholders.

As much as possible, ayaw ni Pia na pinagkukumpara sila ni Catriona. Magkaibigan daw sila at hindi dapat na magkaroon ng hindi pagkakaunawaan dahil lamang sa intriga.

Halatang may iringan sa pagitan ng fans ng dalawang Pinay titleholders. Sa panig ni Catriona, wala umanong isyu sa pagitan nilang dalawa at maayos naman ang pakikitungo nila sa isa’t isa, kaya iwasan na sana ng mga supporters nila na pagkumparahin sila ng supporters nila. –KAYE NEBRE MARTIN
