BUBUKSAN na ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) ang kauna-unahang Champions League ngayong araw sa Aquamarine Recreational Center Gym sa Lipa City, Batangas.

Mauuna ang women’s tournament na papalo simula Nobyembre 20 hanggang 25 habang ang men’s counterpart nito ay nakatakda sa Nobyembre 25 hanggang Disyembre 4.

Anim na koponan ang magbabakbakan sa women’s tourney sa single-round robin —  F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, Perlas Spikers, at Baguio Lady Highlanders sa Pool A, at Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Crossovers, PetroGazz Angels, at California Precision Sports sa Pool B.

Masusubukan ang lakas ng PetroGazz kontra  Baguio sa opening salvo sa alas-10 ng umaga habang magsasalpukan ang F2 Logistics at California Precision Sports sa ala-1:30 ng hapon.

Tatapusin ng Chery Tiggo at Tuguegarao Perlas Spikers ang opening day triple-header sa alas-4 ng hapon.

“This is the first time that the country is staging its Champions League, nwhich is a staple among members of the International Volleyball Federation or FIVB,” wika ni PNVF president Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara sa isang statement.

“And we’re glad that health protocols have eased and we have a very cooperative local government unit in Lipa City.”

Ang men’s tournament ay kinabibilangan ng pitong koponan — Basilan Steel Spikers, Go for Gold-Air Force Aguilas, at Manileno Spikers sa Pool A, habang ang Pool B ay binubuo ng Global Remit, Sabong International Spikers, MRT-Negros, at Team Dasma Monarchs.
