KABILANG na ang mga local chief executives sa prayoridad na matuturukan ng COVID-19 vaccines, kahit ano pa ang risk classification sa kanilang lugar.
Ito ang inanunsiyo ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque kasunod ng pag-apruba ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF MEID).
Nangangahulugan ito na lahat ng gobernador, mayor at iba pang opisyal sa lokal na pamahalaan ay kasama sa priority list ng vaccination plan.
Magugunitang pinapahintulutan lamang ang LGUs na magpabakuna kapag isinama sila sa Priority Group A1.5 na ibig sabihin ay depende sa panganib ng sitwasyon ng COVID-19 cases o uri ng quarantine classification sa kanilang lugar ngunit ngayon ay kahit anong quarantine classification ay kasama na sila sa prayoridad.
“All governors and city and municipal mayors or all local chief executives under the Priority Group A1.5 of the priority population groups for COVID-19 vaccines, regardless of the risk classification of their respective LGUs,” ayon kay Roque.

National Task Force Against COVID-19 Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr. bilang pagpayag sa apela ng League of Provinces of the Philippines na isama sila sa prayoridad na mabakunahan kahit ano pa ang sitwasyon ng kanilang nasasakupan laban sa coronavirus disease.
Para naman kay Roque, ang mga mayor at gobernador dapat kasama sa priority list ng vaccination plan dahil frontliners din sila.
“Because they are “equally fronliners” since they are the ones implementing the prevention, isolation and rehabilitation of the anti-COVID-19 programs at the local level,” paliwanag pa ni Roque.
“As of May 15, 2021, mayroon nang 2,959,829 nabakunahan laban sa COVID-19, kasama ang 714,442 indibidwal na nakakumpleto ng dalawang doses,” sabi pa ni Roque. EVELYN QUIROZ
