ITUTULAK ng isang kongresista ang hindi bababa sa 10 porsiyentong pagtaas sa agricultural budget sa 2022 General Appropriations Act.
Ayon kay Albay Rep. Joey Salceda, nakipagpulong siya kay Agriculture Secretary William Dar para sa posibleng pagtaas upang matulungan ang sektor ng agricultura na mapatatag ang food supply at maitulak ang pagbangon ng ekonomiya.
“I think we can go at least 10% additional funding. We probably need more, and I’ll try to deliver more,” sabi ni Salceda.
Sa ilalim ng 2021 national budget ay may nakalaang P71 billion sa agrikultura.
“The agriculture budget is still much smaller than it should be. It’s a sector with 8% output and 22% of the employed force, but just less than 2% of direct public expenditures,” anang chairman ng House Ways and Means Committee.
