ISINUSULONG ni Senador Nancy Binay ang pagsasagawa ng libreng swab tests sa mga high risk areas sa bansa.
Ayon kay Binay, mahalaga na magkaroon ng swab testing upang maiwasan ang hawaan sa mga komunidad.
“Kulelat pa rin tayo. Why are we not testing enough? What happened to the target of 90k-100k tests daily? Given the country’s low testing capacity, how can we be effective in isolating carriers and spreaders? ‘Yung patuloy na paglala ng pandemya, napaka-crucial ng testing sa mga komunidad,” dagdag ng senador.
Panawagan niya sa Department of Health (DOH) at mga local government unit na magtulungan upang agad na masuri ang mga lugar na maraming kaso ng COVID-19 at maisailalim sa hard lockdown.
“The goal is to test more, not to test all. Hindi naman natin hinihingi na i-test lahat. What we need is a rationalized, more targeted cluster approach to suppress the spread of the virus sa community level—’wag naman yung shotgun approach,” ani Binay.
“Localized community testing, contact tracing and disease surveillance should automatically be part of the zoning containment strategy,” dagdag pa nito. LIZA SORIANO
