IPINAG-UTOS ni Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr. ang pagsuspinde sa 26 opisyal ng ahensiya.
Nauna nang inihayag ni Commissioner Lumagui ang kanyang misyon na magkaroon ng BIR na puno ng professionals na may integridad.
“The suspension of 26 BIR officials shows our commitment to the Filipino people. You deserve only the best in public service. The BIR will continue to create a culture of professionalism and integrity under my watch,”pagbibigay-diin ni Commissioner Lumagui.
Sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Commissioner Lumagui, ang BIR ay may 21 approved formal charges na may preventive suspension orders.
Sa 21, 18 ang ipinatupad na at ang nalalabing tatlo ay ipatutupad pa lamang.
Inaprubahan din ng BIR ang pagpapataw ng suspensiyon sa limang empleyado bilang parusa.
“The suspension of these officials was brought about by their acts constituting grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, gross neglect of duty, violation of reasonable office rules and regulations, violation of anti-red tape act of 1997 and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service,” ayon sa BIR.
