KUMPIYANSA ang Manila Chooks TM sa pagbabalik-aksiyon sa FIBA 3×3 pro circuit para sa lalargang FIBA 3×3 World Tour Montreal Masters sa Setyembre 4-5, 2021.

Tampok bilang 11th seed ang Pinoy cagers sa kabuuang 12 koponan na sasabak sa torneo – ikalawa ngayong taon ng Manila Chooks — matapos lumahok sa Doha Masters noong nakaraang Marso 26.  Sa Montreal, lalaro ang Manila Chooks TM bilang 11th seed sa kabuuang 12 koponan.

“The team is hungry to redeem themselves,” pahayag ni Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas. “They have been ready since May but unfortunately their Cro-atian visas did not make it in time for the FIBA 3×3 Lipik Challenger.

“There have been a lot of challenges faced by the team brought about by the current pandemic but we are confident that frequent participation in the FIBA 3×3 pro circuit will only make the team stronger,” aniya.

Bahagi ng koponan na pangangasiwaan ni coach Aldin Ayo sina Mac Tallo, Zach Huang, Dennis Santos, bagong recruit Mark Yee. Ang beteranong si Chico Lanete ang alternate player.

Bunsod ng ipinatutupad na lockdown at quarantine restriction sa Metro Manila at mga karatig-lalawigan sa Luzon, sinabi ni Ayo na limitado sa online training at workout ang ginawa ng koponan sa nakalipas na buwan.

“With regards to conditioning, there will be no problem as we made sure that the players figured in high-intensity workouts,” sabi ng pamosong collegiate mentor.

“The chemistry will also be there since the team has been together for three months already.

“But the tournament itself is a different beast. With the limitations that we have, we studied a lot of films on our possible opponents and we are hoping that the preparations translate to winning games,” aniya.

Kabuuang US$110,000 ang nakataya sa liga, tampok ang US$40,000 para sa kampeon.

Liyamado ang World no. 2 Riga ng Latvia, gayundin ang No. 4 Ub ng Serbia, No. 7 Amsterdam ng Netherlands, No. 8 Antwerp ng Belgium, at No. 10 Edmonton ng Canada.

Sasabak din sa torneo ang USA’s Princeton, Switzerland’s Lausanne, Lithuania’s Raudondvaris, Canada’s Old Montreal, USA’s Omaha, at isang koponan na magmumula sa qualifying Quest event.

Malalaman ang grouping ng mga koponan sa gaganaping technical meeting sa Setyembre 3.

Sasailalim ang mga miyembro at opisyal ng Manila Chooks TM sa  RT-PCR tests Martes ng umaga bago tumulak patungong Canada sa Miyerkoles.
