INISA-ISA ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kanyang huling State of the Nation Address (SONA) ang mga nagawa ng kanyang administrasyon sa nakalipas na limang taon.

Kabilang sa mga achievements sa pamumuno ng Pangulong Duterte ay ang pagkakaroon ng libreng edukasyon, Universal Health Care Law, free irrigation at mga infras­tructure projects aa iba’t ibang dako ng bansa.

Inamin ng Pangulo na nnananatiling problema ng Pilipinas ang droga at korupsiyon.

“Corruption is endemic.” Ganito tinawag ng Pangulo ang korupsiyon sa gobyerno.

Binanggit din ng Pangulo ang ‘pastillas’ scheme kung saan ilang immigration personnel ang tinanggal niya sa tungkulin.

“Nobody can stop corruption unless you overturn the government,” pahayag nito.

Kasunod nito, pina­yuhan ng Punong Ehekutibo ang susunod na mahahalal na presidente na magdeklara ng martial law sa bansa upang matigil ang korupsiyon sa gobyerno.

Dagdag nito, “If I were the next president, if you think there is a need to change everyone in the system. You declare martial law then fire every­body.”

Aniya, ang korupsiyon ay isang katawagan sa pagnanakaw sa pera  ng taumbayan na balakid sa layunin ng bansa na umunlad.

“Corruption is but ano­ther term of stealing people’s money dashing in its way in nation’s goals and aspirations,” pahayag pa nito.

Ang paglaban sa droga ay isa sa kampanya ng Pangulo at nangako na tatapusin ang problema sa unang tatlo hanggang anim na buwan nang maupo bilang ika-16 Pa­ngulo ng Pilipinas noong Hunyo 2016.

Libo libong sangkot sa droga ang naaresto na  subalit dismayado siya dahil nananatili ang problema sa droga.

“And that is why I go crazy looking at the situation. They are still around,” pag-amin ni Duterte.

“We do not have laboratories now because nawala na sila. Itong naiwan ngayon are doing the importation…” ayon sa Pangulo.

Muli sinabi ng Punong Ehekutibo na ayaw niyang mawasak ang sambayanang Filipino dahil sa droga kaya muli itong nagbabala sa kasasapitan ng mga drug pusher at iba pang sangkot sa droga.

Samantala, hiniling din ng Pangulo sa Kong­reso ang pagsasabatas ng panukala na pagtatatag ng Virology Institue na inaasahang magpapalakas sa kakayahan para supilin ang mga pandemyang nangyayari kabilang na ang COVID-19 gayundin ang pagbuo ng Center for Disease Control na institutional response para sa mga pandemya na ilan lamang sa  priority bills ng administrasyong Duterte.
