MAYWEATHER ‘DI INTERESADO SA PACQUIAO REMATCH

LAS VEGAS – Walang interes si Floyd Mayweather na magbalik sa ring para sa rematch kay Manny Pacquiao matapos ang kanilang 2015 superfight, ayon kay close confidante Leonard Ellerbe.

Sinabi ni Ellerbe, ang chief executive ng Mayweather Promotions, sa  boxingscene.com website na maging ang isa pang malaki at nakatu-tuksong premyo ay hindi makapagpapabalik kay Mayweather sa ring.

Si Mayweather ay sinasabing kumita ng tinatayang $300 million mula sa points victory kay Pacquiao,  na nananatiling ‘most lucrative fight’ sa kasaysayan at kumita ng mahigit sa $600 million.

Nauna rito ay sinabi ni Freddie Roach, long-time trainer ni Pacquiao, na interesado siya  sa rematch ng Filipino icon kay Mayweather matapos ang pagkatalo sa kanilang unang pag­haharap.

Gayunman, baga­ma’t manonood si Mayweather sa laban ni Pacquiao kay  Keith Thurman sa Las Vegas sa Linggo, sinabi ni Ellerbe na walang tsansa para sa rematch.

“Floyd has no inte­rest,” ani Ellerbe sa bo­xing scene. “He has zero interest. He’s been doing this all his life. And after a while, you get burned out. He’s given the sport everything.”

Aniya, masaya na si Mayweather sa kanyang pagreretiro.

“He’s very content,” ani Ellerbe. “He’s living his best life. I just talked to him earlier today. We went over some business stuff. He’s travelling, spending time with his kids, spending time with his family.

“He’s doing all the things that he never got a chance to do because boxing has consumed his life ever since he was 5 years old.”
