MAHIGIT sa P1 billion ang naipamahagi na sa public utility vehicle operators (PUV) sa ilalim ng direct cash subsidy program ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) at ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Ayon kay LTFRB officer-in-charge Executive Director Joel Bolano, ang  cash subsidy ay direktang ipinagkaloob sa mga PUV operator.

Magmula nang ilunsad ang direct cash subsidy program noong November 2020, may kabuuang P1,017,822,000 na subsidiya ang naipamahagi sa 90,318 PUV operators, na kumakatawan sa disbursement rate na 96.55% ng overall funds para sa programa.

May kabuuang P1.158 billion ang inilaan para sa  cash subsidy program sa ilalim ng Bayanihan to Recover As One Act or Bayanihan 2.

Ayon sa LTFRB, ang bawat operator ay pinagkalooban ng P6,500 subsidy para sa bawat PUV unit sa ilalim ng kanyang prangkisa.

“Kung kaya maaaring higit pa sa P6,500 ang makuha ng isang PUV operator,” sabi ng ahensiya.

Maaaring makakuha ng direct cash subsidy ang mga operator ng public utility jeepneys, public utility buses, point-to-point buses, mini-buses, UV express vehicles, at FilCab units.

Ang subsidiya para sa  PUV operators ay ipinagkaloob sa pamamagitan ng Landbank of the Philippines Pantawid Pasada Program Cash Cards, Landbank accounts, at over-the-counter transactions.
