NATIVE CROP GAGAWING READY-TO-DRINK JUICES

ISINAGAWA ang  collaborative research and development project para makalikha ng  ready-to-drink juices mula sa hilaw na mangga, mint, yakon at iba pa na pinondohan at sinusuportahan ng  Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Sinabi ni DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña na magkakaloob ang ahensiya ng pondo at tulong teknikal para sa proyekto ng  Lyceum of the Philippines University at Vinoca Manufacturing, na gagawa ng  natural drinks.

Paghahaluin ang  hilaw na mangga,  mint, at yacon, watermelon, ay celery.

“Green mango is rich in antioxidant, acidic, and has vitamin-rich properties, while yacon is a nutraceutical product rich in phenolic acids, antioxidants, and flavonoids,” ayon kay de la Peña.

Ang mint,  naman ay puno ng phytonutrients na makatutulong sa pagbuo ng  enzymes para sa panunaw.

Matutukoy sa  collaborative project ang physico-chemical, microbiological, at sensory properties  ng ready-to-drink juices.

“During the development of the juice, the product nutritional value, sugar profile, and functional properties will be characterized,” dagdag nito.
