LUMIIT ang trade deficit ng bansa noong Octobe, ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Sa datos ng PSA, nagtamo ang bansa ng deficit na USD3.31 billion noong Oktubre, lumiit month-on-month at year-on-year basis ng 31 percent at 13.5 percent, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
Ang trade gap noong September 2022 ay nasa USD4.84 billion, habang noong October 2021 ay USD3.82 billion.
Ito ay dahil sa patuloy na paglago ng exports noong October habang humina ang imports kumpara sa naunang buwan.
Ang export revenues ng bansa noong October 2022 ay nasa USD7.69 billion, tumaas ng 7.4 percent mula USD7.16 billion na halaga ng exports noong September ng kasalukuyang taon. Tumaas din ito ng 20 percent mula sa exports na USD6.41 billion noong nakaraang taon.
Bumaba ang imports ng 8.4 percent month-on-month mula USD12 billion, habang year-on-year, ang import ay tumaas ng 7.5 percent mula USD10.2 billion.
“In October 2022, the country’s total external trade in goods amounted to USD18.70 billion which indicates an annual growth rate of 12.3 percent from its level in the same period of the previous year. In September 2022, its annual increase was slower at 11.5 percent, while in October 2021, it expanded at a faster rate of 13.8 percent,” ayon sa PSA.
