INALIS na ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang temporary ban sa deployment ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa Saudi Arabia.
Ayon kay Bello, agad nagbago ang patakaran ng Saudi government, lalo na ang mga employer matapos ang kautusan ng pamahalaan na hindi na muna magpapadala ng mga manggagawa roon.
Aniya, nakatanggap siya ng mensahe mula kay Saudi Ambassador to Manila Abdullah Al-Bussairy kasunod ng ibinigay na garantiya ng Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) na ang employers na ng mga OFW ang magbabayad para sa quarantine at health protocols, tulad ng swab test, pagdating doon sa kanilang bansa.
“After receipt of the official communication from the Saudi government this morning which ensures us that the foreign employers and agencies will shoulder the costs of institutional quarantine and other COVID protocols upon arrival in the KSA, the temporary suspension of deployment to the Kingdom is hereby lifted,” pahayag ni Bello.
