WALANG uuwing luhaan sa 19 Filipino athletes na sumabak sa Tokyo Olympics, ayon kay Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Rep. Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino.

“The non-medalists in the Tokyo Olympics will receive incentives of P500,000 each,” wika ni Tolentino.

Ang POC at ang MVP Sports Foundation ni business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan ang magkakaloob ng insentibo sa non-medalists sa Team Philippines.

Sila ay sina rower Cris Nievarez, taekwondo jin Kurt Barbosa, skateboarder Margielyn Didal, shooter Jayson Valdez, gymnast Carlos Yulo, boxer Irish Magno, judoka Kiyomi Watanabe, weightlifter  Elreen Ando, golfer Juvic Pagunsan, pole vaulter EJ Obiena, at  Kristina Knott (200m) at Remedy Rule at Luke Gebbie ng swimming.

“Everyone on Team Philippines in these ‘Golden Olympics’ deserve all the praises, and in this case, incentives, they need,” ani Tolentino. “Qualifying for the Olympics is already that difficult, what more competing in the Games themselves.”
