SA LAYUNING mapababa pa ang presyo ng pork at pork products sa Metro Manila, sinabi ng Department of Agriculture (DA) na may kabuuang 27,852 kilos pa ng karne mula sa iba’t ibang rehiyon ang dumating noong Martes ng gabi sa Metro Manila.
May kabuuang 685,846 kilos o 108,070 heads ng baboy ang naibiyahe na sa Metro Manila bilang government intervention para tugunan ang suplay.
“The largest number of hog deliveries were transported from Western Visayas, particularly Aklan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental, with a total of 3,155 hogs or 44 percent of the total deliveries today,” pahayag ng DA sa isang statement.
Ang Calabarzon Region ay nagbagsak din ng 2,086 baboy mula sa Rizal, Quezon, at Batangas, habang may 526 hogs mula sa Bicol Region, partikular sa Camarines Sur, Albay, at Sorsogon.
Ayon pa sa DA, may 430 hogs mula sa Northern Mindanao ang dinala sa slaughterhouses sa Muntinlupa City.
Samantala, ang Central Luzon ay nagdala ng 65 hogs sa Makati at Caloocan slaughterhouses bukod pa sa 27,852 kilograms para madagdagan ang daily hog requirement ng Metro Manila.
Sa monitoring ng DA, ang average meat prices sa public markets sa Metro Manila ay ang mga sumusunod: beef rump, PHP370-PHP380; beef brisket, PHP300-PHP310; pork kasim, PHP300-PHP310; pork liempo, PHP340-PHP350; whole chicken, PHP160; at egg (medium), PHP6.50-PHP6.66. PNA
