TIWALA si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na pananatilihin ni Presidential Security Group Commander Colonel Ramon Zagala ang excellent provision ng seguridad sa Office of the President at sa First Family.
Sa change of command ng PSG na ginanap kahapon ay sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na hindi lang ang kanyang pamilya ang dapat na tiyakin na mabibigay ng maayos na seguridad kundi maging ang mga bumibisitang heads of state at diplomats sa bansa.
“The mission of the Presidential Security Group goes beyond the stated mission of protecting the First Family and foreign dignitaries who come to visit with us. What you are guarding is not only the personages of the First Family but you are guarding and keeping safe an institution, the institution of the presidency,” pahayag ni Marcos.
Sinabi pa ni Marcos na kapag pumalpak ang PSG, tiyak na papalpak ang institusyon.
“Because should you fail in your mission, that institution will collapse and the effects on our country will be dire. And that is why we only pick the best men and women that we have within our military to join the Presidential Security Group,” pahayag ni Marcos.
Pinasalamatan ni Marcos ang PSG dahil sa kanilang ipinamamalas na kagitingan sa pagtupad sa kanilang mga tungkulin at pagiging makabayan sa pagbibigay serbisyo sa bansa.
“With integrity and valor, let us remain united in safeguarding our institutions as it strives to bring about a more secure, peaceful, and dignified life for Filipino people,” giit pa ng Pangulo.
Sa nabanggit na turnover ceremony ay binigyang parangal si outgoing PSG commander Gen Randolph Cabangbang sa matagumpay na tour of duty bilang PSG commander.
“With integrity and valor, let us remain united in safeguarding our institutions as it strives to bring about a more secure, peaceful, and dignified life for Filipino people,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo.
Si Zagala na dating spokesperson ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ay magsisilbi rin bilang Acting Senior Military Assistant to the President.
Kabilang sa mga dumalo sa turnover ceremony sina Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez, mga senador na sina Senators Robin Padilla at JV Ejercito, AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Andres Centino, 250th Philippine Airlift Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Pablo Rustria Jr., at dating PSG Group Commander and 1001st Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Jesus Durante. EVELYN QUIROZ
