PUMAYAG na ang munisipalidad ng Tanay sa Rizal na gamitin at pagtayuan ang 10 ektaryang lupain ng Tanay-Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Forest Park at PDEA Academy.
Sa ginawang seremonya sa 3rd Floor Activity Area, Tanay Municipal Hall, sa M.H. Del Pilar, Barangay Plaza Aldea, Tanay, Rizal, ay pormal na nilagdaan ang ‘Usufruct Agreement’ nina PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva at Tanay Mayor Rex Manuel C. Tanjuatco.
“The municipality of Tanay is the absolute and registered owner of a 123-hectares of land located in Sitio Tablon, Barangay Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal, by which the 10-hectare land is part of it,” ayon kay Villanueva.
Base sa Sangguniang Resolution No. 193, Series of 2020, pinapayagan ng Tanay LGU ang PDEA na gamtin ang 10-hectare na lupain para sa ‘development’ ng Tanay-PDEA Forest Park at relocation site ng PDEA Academy.
Ayon sa alkalde, ang development ng forest park ay magkasamang gagawin ng LGU at PDEA bilang kontribusyon sa National Greening Program (NGP) ng bansa, at sa katunayan ay nagsasagawa na sila ng regular tree-planting activities sa lugar nitong mga nakalipas na taon.
Aniya, ang bahagi ng lupain ay magsisilbing bagong tahanan ng PDEA Academy, kung saan ay matagal nang panahon na pansamantalang nakatayo sa loob ng Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda, sa Barangay Tartaria, Silang, Cavite.
Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, papayagan ng Tanay LGU na gamitin ang kanilang pag-aaring lupain ng PDEA sa loob ng 50 taon, at kapag natapos ay maaari umanong i-renew ng panibagong 50 taon, ayon sa ‘mutual agreement’ ng magkabilang panig.
