OPISYAL na nanumpa ng katapatan kay Pangulo Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang bagong talagang Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Carlito Galvez Jr., kasama ang 38 iba pang star-rank officers na bahagi ng customary oath taking ceremony sa Malacañang nitong Martes.
Bago isinagawa ang oath-taking, ay itinaas muna ni Pangulong Duterte ang ranggo ni Galvez mula sa pagiging Lt. General ay ginawa itong isang ganap na heneral na tanging nakalaan sa AFP Chief of Staff.
Magkatuwang na isinabit nina Presidente Duterte at Secretary of National Defense Delfin Lorenzana kasama ang pamilya ni Gen. Galvez ang ika-apat na estrelya nito sa balikat.
Kasama ng AFP Chief na nanumpa ang mga bagong three-star generals na sina Lt.Gen. Paul Atal, Commander ng Central Command; Lt.Gen. Danilo Pamonag, Commander ng Southern Luzon Command; at Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad, Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy.
Sampung bagong two-star generals na sina MGen. Restituto Padilla Jr., Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) for Plans, J5; MGen. Fernando Trinidad, DCS for Intelligence, J2; MGen.
