UMAABOT sa P969 milyong halaga ng firearms, vehicles at iba pang gamit binili ng Philippine National Police (PNP) para mas lalong palakasin ang operational readiness at capability sa paghahatid ng serbisyo at pangseguridad ng ating mga kababayan.
Pinangunahan ni PNP Chief Police General Rodolfo S. Azurin ang presentation at blessing ng mga bagong PNP mobility assets, weapons at equipment na ginanap sa Camp Crame nitong nakaraang Biyernes.
Ang nasabing halaga ng newly procured logistics ay bahagi ng pondo mula sa allotments ng Capability Enchancement Programs (CEPs) 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, at 2021, Congress-Untroduced Initiative Appropriation FY 2021 at Trust Receipt 2018 na nagkakahalaga ng P969, 904, 051. 40.
Kabilang sa mga bagong gamit na nabili ay ang 10 units ng 4×2 Patrol Jeep; 36 units ng 4×4 Personnel Carrier; 8,358 units ng 5.56mm Basic Assault Rifle; 34 units ng 7.62mm Light Machine Gun; 4,900 units ng 5.56mm Basic Assault Rifle; 884 units ng Tablet Computer at 2, 005 units ng Enhance Comat Helmets.
Ayon kay Azurin, ang mga bagong sasakyan at tablet computers ay ipamamahagi sa iba’t ibang municipal police stations sa buong kapuluan habang ang firearms ay issue sa PNP recruits, PNPA cadets, PNP Maritime Group, at Regional Mobile Forces at battalion.
“As we continue to mobilize our police units through ooerational plans, strategic measures and other crime prevention and solution initiatives, I would like to note that it is also important to continuously upgrade our equipment to further strengthen our anti-criminality campaign and other field operation strategies against illegal drugs, criminality, insurgency and terrorism, ” pahayag ni Azurin.
Dagdag pa ni Azurin, “ang mga sasakyan at kagamitang ito ay napakalaking tulong sa ating mga police station upang mas lalo pa silang maging apektibo sa pagtupad sa kanilang tungkulin para sa mas maayos at mabilis na paghahatid ng serbisyo at pangangailangang pangseguridad ng ating mga kababayan.
