BIBIGYAN ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ng dagdag na insentibo si Hidilyn Diaz makaraang magtala ng bagong Olympic record sa women’s -55kg sa Tokyo Olympics.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ng PSC na tatanggap si Diaz ng karagdagang P5 million tulad ng itinatakda ng batas.

“Under Republic Act 10699 or the expanded incentives act, national athletes and other athletes who surpass Philippine record or ranking in any measurable international sports competition shall be given cash incentives, the amount of which may be determined by the PSC,” ayon sa PSC.

Kinumpirma ni PSC officer-in-charge, Commissioner Celia Kiram na aprubado na ang dagdag na insentibo at nakahanda nang ipalabas.

Sa kasalukuyan ay umaabot na sa P20.5 million ang matatanggap ni Diaz mula sa pamahalaan bukod pa sa milyon-milyong ipagkakaloob ng pribadong sektor.
