TRAINING SA 400 HEALTH WORKERS

NASA 400 health workers ng Department of Health (DOH) sa Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) ang isasailalim sa psychosocial training bilang paghahanda sa pagdaraos ng community work sa mga Dengvaxia affected communities sa rehiyon.

Ayon kay Regional Di­rector Eduardo Janairo, ang mga health worker na sasabak sa naturang aktibidad ay dapat na mentally fit din kaya’t nagpasya silang isailalim ang mga ito sa naturang pagsasanay.

Ang una, sa walong batch ng mga health workers, ay nakatapos na sa training na isinagawa mula Mayo 9-11, 2018 sa Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

Inaasahan namang matatapos ang lahat ng training sa mga naturang health worker sa pagtatapos ng buwan ng Mayo.

Sinabi ni Janairo na kabilang sa magiging trabaho ng mga naturang health workers ay maki­pag-dayalogo sa mga ma­gulang ng Dengvaxia Vaccinated Individuals (DVIs) at bigyan ang mga ito ng tamang impormasyon at kaalaman hinggil sa Dengvaxia.

Sasanayin silang makipag-usap sa mga magulang upang maibalik ang tiwala at kumpiyansa ng mga ito sa pamahalaan at sa pagpapabakuna.

Titiyakin din ng health workers sa kanila na handa ang pamahalaan na magkaloob sa kanila ng tulong sa sandaling kailanganin nila ito.

“Our health workers need to be mentally fit and prepared in order to facilitate effective management and communication among Dengvaxia affected families. They must learn to exercise maximum tolerance, control their emotions, and be able to appease the anxieties of distressed parents,” ani Janairo.

“We must reach out to each and every affected parent and ensure that they will be given the proper information and knowledge and assure them that the government is ready to provide assistance 24/7,” paliwanag pa niya.

Kabilang sa mga health worker ang provincial health team leaders, development management officers, program managers, nurses, medical technologists, local health officers at barangay health workers.

“We will go house-to-house and provide proper and accurate information to the affected families and assure them that assistance and support will be given to them. This approach will enable us to bring people’s trust back to the programs of DOH, especially in immunization,” ani Janairo.

“It is for the health department to provide the safety and protection of these affected children, and ensure that they will receive the benefits and support that they deserve, that is why we also need to enhance the skills of our health providers in order for them to provide effective management and assistance in dealing with the target clients,” aniya pa.
