INIULAT ng Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) at ng Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) na nagtala ang local automotive vehicle assemblers ng tatlong sunod na buwan ng double-digit growth noong Mayo.
Ayon sa joint report ng CAMPI at TMA, ang industriya ay lumago ng 19.5 percent noong nakaraang buwan sa 26,370 units mula 22,062 units na naibenta noong Mayo ng nakaraang taon.
Napagaan ng 34.2-percent sales ng commercial vehicles ang 8.4-percent na pagbaba sa sales ng passenger cars noong nakaraang buwan.
Ang commercial vehicle sales noong Mayo 2022 ay tumaas sa 19,406 units mula 14,463 units sa kaparehong buwan noong nakaraang taon.
Bumaba ang sales ng passenger cars sa 6,964 units mula 7,599 units year-on-year.
“Based on our data, the industry has already recorded double-digit percentage growth for three consecutive months on a year-over-year basis, indicating that recovery is underway,” pahayag ni CAMPI president Rommel Gutierrez.
Ayon kay Gutierrez, ang economic recovery at ang malaking demand sa mga sasakyan ay nakatulong sa pagtaas ng benta ng industriya noong nakaraang buwan.
“The industry is optimistic for a sustained economic growth anchored on domestic demand amid the continued containment of the pandemic –all-important to the full recovery of the industry,” dagdag pa niya. PNA
