PORMAL na itinanghal na kampeon si Rey Briones at ang kanyang partner na si Rod Advincula ng Greengold Gamefarm sa 2018 World Slasher Cup 2 sa ginanap na awarding ceremony ng Pintakasi of Champions kahapon sa Novotel Manila, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.
Sinaksihan ng libo-libong sabong enthusiasts, idineklarang solo champion ang Greengold Uno entry ni Briones, na nakakuha ng 7.5 points.
Si Briones, may-ari ng Spartans R&B Gamefarm sa Bulacan, ay pumasok sa grand finals na may 4 points. Ang entry ay nakakuha ng 3.5 points sa finals para sa sorpresang pagkapanalo, kung saan tinalo nito ang heavy favorites na sina defending champion Frank Berin at sabong idol Patrick Anto-nio, ang solo champion ng World Slasher Cup 1 nitong Enero at 7-time World Slasher Cup champ.
Ito ang ikaapat na kampeonato ni Briones sa World Slasher Cup. Una siyang nagkampeon noong 2003, at nagback-to-back champion naman siya noong 2011 at 2012.
Kabilang sa nagbigay ng pagbati kina Briones at Advincula ay ang organizers ng World Slasher Cup, sponsors, at ang 2018 Bb. Pilipinas Queens.

Ang World Slasher Cup ang itinuturing na pinakamalaki at pinaka-prestihiyosong derby event sa buong mundo.
Kabilang sa mga dikit kay Briones na may 7 points ay sina Dr. Bel Almojera ng Florida, USA (Blue Angels), Jun Tejada/Lawrence Lu (Peshmerga Angry Birds Aklan), Marvin Rillo/Migs Lavinia (MJ 3), Pol Estrellado (PE Farms), Ricky Magtuto/Rey Tambong (Ahluck Camsur), Frank Berin (Mu-lawin), Julia Nicole (June 17 Pangasinan), at Jojo Alcovendras (Sulong Maynila).
