NANATILING walang mantsa ang Adamson Soaring Falcons makaraang pataubin ang National University Bulldogs, 63-58, sa UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball tournament kahapon sa FilOil-Flying V Arena sa San Juan.
Sumirit ang Falcons sa 5-0 kartada habang bumagsak ang Bulldogs sa 1-3.
Naglunsad ang Bulldogs ng late run sa fourth quarter kung saan na-outscore nito ang Falcons, 23-20, subalit hindi ito sapat upang dungisan ang malinis na rekord ng Adamson.
Naniniwala si Adamson head coach Franz Pumaren na depensa ang susi sa kanilang ika-5 sunod na panalo.
“I guess, we’re in this position because our defense are keeping us. We held them down for 58 points. We’re not the type of team that can outscore other team. Our offense will just be there, but our defense, we need to make it rock solid,” ani Pumaren.
“I think NU really prepared well for us. It’s a learning experience for us that for us to make it all the way, we should really concentrate on what we’re supposed to be doing,” sabi pa ng multi-titled coach.
Nagbuhos si Sean Manganti ng 14 points para sa San Marcelino-based team, habang nag-ambag si Simon Camacho ng 8 points sa krusyal na fourth period.
Nanguna naman si Dave Ildefonso para sa Bulldogs na may 14 points, habang nagdagdag si Enzo Joson ng 11.
Sa kabila ng pagkatalo, sinabi ni NU head coach Jamike Jarin na gumaganda ang laro ng kanyang mga bataan.
