NAGPAKAWALA si Justin Brownlee ng 36 points nang makaulit ang Barangay Ginebra sa Meralco, 104-90, upang umabante sa semifinals ng PBA Commissioner’s Cup kagabi sa Araneta Coliseum.
Ito ang ikaanim na semifinals appearance ng Gin Kings mula pa sa 2015 Governor’s Cup na kanilang napagwagian sa gabay ni coach Tim Cone.
“We encountered difficulties early in the game and we were able to execute well our game plan in the third quarter and kept the momentum the rest of the way,” sabi ni Cone.
“We have to refine our game both offense and defense because competition in the semifinal is tough. To be able to survive, we have to play above board and with lots of energy and vigor,” sabi pa ni Cone.
Tumirada rin si Brownlee ng 6 rebounds at 9 assists.
Dahil sa kagustuhang manalo ay naglaro si Brownlee sa loob ng 41 minuto at 39 segundo.
Malaking tulong ang ginawa ng twin towers nina Greg Slaughter at Japeth Aguilar sa opensa at depensa ng Barangay Ginebra kung saan kumana sila ng pinagsamang 24 points at 14 rebounds.
Tumipa si Meralco import Arinze Onwaku ng 21 points subalit hindi nakakuha ng solidong suporta sa kanyang mga kasamahan sa lungkot ni coach Norman Black. CLYDE MARIANO
