NAGING bayani ng Blackwater si Roi Sumang nang maitakas ang 104-99 panalo sa overtime laban sa Magnolia sa PBA Commissioner’s Cup kagabi sa Mall of Asia Arena.

Umiskor si Sumang ng pitong sunod na puntos para sa 94-87 bentahe at dalawa pang free throws sa huling 23 segundo sa extra period upang ibigay sa Elite ang ika-6 na panalo sa siyam na laro at putulin ang 5-game winning streak ng Hotshots na bumagsak sa 5-3 kartada.

“They refused to fold up when the game was on the line. They really wanted to win. They showed their true character. I’m proud of them,” sabi ni Blackwater coach Aries Dimaunahan.

Nang tanungin sa performance ng bagong import na si Stephen Blair, sinabi ni Dimaunhan na maaga pa para husgahan ito.

“It’s too early to judge him. This is his first game. I understand him. He had jet lag and it is the reason of his mediocre showing. I’m pretty optimistic he will play better in our next game against Talk ‘N Text on July 7,” aniya.
