The Department of Trade and Industry Agusan del Norte provincial office successfully launched the Negosyo Center (NC) Santiago at the Santiago Bus Terminal on April 22, 2024. The event aimed to bolster the ease of doing business and enhance access to services for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the municipality.
Graced by the presence of key figures in the province, including LGU Santiago Mayor Zenaida Corro-Lim, D.D.M., and Gov. Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante, the ceremonial launching marked a significant step towards fulfilling the objectives of Republic Act 10644, also known as the Go Negosyo Act. This mandates the establishment of Negosyo Centers in every municipality, city, and province across the country to support the growth of MSMEs.
DTI Assistant Regional Director Brenda B. Corvera, along with DTI Provincial Director Lorijane D. Sacote, expressed their gratitude towards the local government of Santiago for their collaborative efforts in making the launch possible. With NC Santiago becoming the 12th Negosyo Center in the province, Agusan del Norte now boasts a Negosyo Center in every city and municipality, setting a milestone in the Caraga region.
Gov. Angel Amante also expressed her interest in establishing another Negosyo Center for the Province of Agusan del Norte. She also emphasized supporting local products for tokens and activities especially those produced by the Indigenous Peoples of Agusan del Norte. All these initiatives signify a concerted effort to empower local entrepreneurs and drive economic development across Agusan del Norte.
