MAHIGIT sa P35 billion ang nakolekta ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) mula sa duties at taxes sa ilalim ng Fuel Marking Program sa first quarter ng taon.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ng BOC na nakalikom ito ng kabuuang P35.84 billion mula sa markings ng 4,193,480,138 liters ng kerosene, diesel, at gasoline mula Enero hanggang Marso 2021.

Ang BOC ay may mandato na markahan ang fully paid imported petroleum products sa ilalim ng programa.

Ayon sa ahensiya, ang markers ay nagsisilbing identifiers sa field testing para matukoy ang  presensiya ng illicit fuel sa merkado.

Buhat nang ipatupad ito noong Setyembre 2019 hanggang Marso 2021, ang BOC at Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ay nakapagmarka na ng kabuuang 21.7 billion litro ng gasolina.

Sa kasalukuyan ay nakakolekta na ito ng P211.73 billion na duties at  taxes sa ilalim ng ­programa. FROILAN MORALLOS
