Gayunman, sinabi ng BFAR na ligtas kainin ang mga isda, pusit, hipon at alimasag mula sa naturang mga lugar basta sariwa at huhugasang mabuti, at tatanggalin ang internal organs tulad ng hasang at bituka bago lutuin.
Ligtas naman na sa toxic red tide ang coastal waters ng Milagros sa Masbate, Carigara Bay sa Leyte, at Murcielagos Bay sa Zamboanga del Norte.
