MAHIGIT sa kalahating bilyong pisong halaga ng pautang ang ipinagkaloob ng National Electrification Administration (NEA) sa electric cooperatives sa first half ng taon.

Ayon sa NEA, may kabuuang 18 electric cooperatives ang nabiyayaan sa P560.66-million na loans hanggang noong katapusan ng Hunyo.

Sa kabuuang halaga, P225.81-million ang ginamit para sa capital expenditure loans ng 13 ECs.

Kabilang sa mga ito ang First Laguna Electric Cooperative, Inc. (FLECO), Quezon I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (QUEZELCO I), Sorsogon I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SORECO I), Iloilo III Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ILECO III), Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc (NONECO), Leyte V Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LEYECO V), at Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ZANECO).

Kasama rin ang Misamis Oriental I Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc. (MORESCO I), Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BUSE- CO), Siasi Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SIASELCO), Basilan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BASELCO), Siargao Electric Cooperative, Inc.(SIARELCO) at Surigao del Sur I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SURSECO I).

Samantala, sinabi ng NEA na P272million na loans ang ipinagkaloob sa anim na ECs, na kinabibilangan ng Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO), First Laguna Electric Cooperative, Inc. (FLECO), Antique Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ANTECO), Zamboanga del Sur II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ZAMSURECO II), Lanao del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LANECO) at Misamis Oriental II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MORESCO II) for their working capital.

Kabuuang P12.85 million ang napunta sa Misamis Oriental I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MORESCO I) para sa kanilang modular generator set.

Nakakuha naman ang Lanao del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LANECO) ng P50 million bilang short-term credit facility loan.

Ayon sa NEA, matagal na itong nag-aalok ng financial assistance sa ECs sa pamamagitan ng Enhanced Lending Program nito, na kinabibilangan ng regular, calamity, at concessional loans; stand-by at short-term credit loans; single-digit system losses; renewable energy; at modular generator set loans.
