PNVF WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS UMARANGKADA NA

NAGSIMULA na ang daan patungong Hanoi sa loob ng Subic Gymnasium bubble kahapon kung saan 16 aspirants—pinagsamang veterans at promising collegiate players— ang lumahok sa Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) tryouts para sa women’s volleyball team.

Sinamahan ni Jaja Santiago—ang pinakamatagumpay na Pinay sa kasalukuyan na may championship na nakuha sa Ageo Medics sa Japan V.League— sina fellow 2019 Southeast Asian Games veterans Aby Maraño, Majoy Baron, Mylene Paat at Eya Laure sa tryouts na pinangasiwaan ni  women’s head coach Odjie Mamon.

Kabilang sa mga beterano na lumahok sa tryouts ay sina Iris Tolenada, Ria Meneses, at Dell Palomata, habang ang collegiate hopefuls ay sina Kamille Cal, Mhicaela Belen, Ivy Lacsina, Alyssa Solomon, Jennifer Nierva, Faith Nisperos, Imee Hernandez at Bernadette Pepito.

Sina Santiago at teammates Laure at Paat ay nakasuot ng kanilang pulang PPE-like Chery Tiggo practice uniforms kung saan lumahok sila sa skills tests sa Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority facility.

The participants observed protocols—with the players and coaches wearing face masks throughout the proceedings in accordance with health and safety protocols set by Dr. Raul Canlas, medical commission head of both the PNVF and the Philippine Olympic Committee.

“The federation puts the health and safety of the participants in equal footing with our goal of forming the national teams as soon as possible,” wika ni PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara, at idinagdag na ang mga koponan ay isasabak sa Hanoi SEA Games sa Nobyembre at posibleng sa Asian Women’s Championships sa Agosto kapag iginawad ng Asian Volleyball Confederation ang hosting chores sa bansa.
