UMABOT sa $679 million ang foreign direct investments na pumasok sa bansa noong Abril, mas mataas ng 114.4 percent kumpara sa kaparehong buwan noong nakaraang taon, ayon sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
“This brought the FDI net inflows for the first four months of 2021 to $3.1 billion, a 56.3 percent increase from $2 billion in the comparable period last year,” sabi ng BSP.
Ipinaliwanag ng BSP na ang FDI net inflows noong Abril ay tumaas sa likod ng positibong foreign investor sentiment sa macroe-conomic fundamentals at malakas na growth prospects ng bansa.
“In particular, FDI net inflows during the month increased due mainly to the 121.2 percent expansion in non-residents’ net investments in debt instruments to $500 million from $226 million in April 2020,” anang BSP.
Samantala, ang net investments ng non-residents sa equity capital ay tumaas sa $97 million noong Abril mula sa $3 million lamang sa kaparehong buwan noong nakaraang taon.
Tumaas din ang equity capital placements ng 131 percent sa $108 million, habang bumaba ang withdrawals ng 75.1 percent sa $11 million.
Ang equity capital placements noong Abril ay pangunahing nagmula sa Japan, United States, at Singapore.
