ANIM pang bansa ang isinama ng Filipinas sa travel restrictions upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng bagong variant ng COVID-19.
Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Harry Roque, ang ban sa foreign travelers na magmumula sa Portugal, India, Finland, Norway, Jordan at Brazil ay epektibo sa Jan. 8, 2021, 12:01 a.m. Manila time, hanggang Jan. 15, 2021.
“Foreign travelers from these areas who arrive before Jan. 8 will be allowed to enter the Philippines and required to undergo an absolute facility-based 14-day quarantine period, even if they obtain a negative RT-PCR coronavirus test result,” ani Roque.
“Filipino coming from or who have been to the 6 countries, including those arriving after Jan. 8, 2021, will also be allowed to enter the country and required to undergo quarantine.”
Ang travel ban ay unang ipinatupad ng bansa sa United Kingdom, kung saan unang natuklasan ang bagong strain ng virus, at pinalawak sa US at 19 iba pang bansa.
