SA pagbibigay tuldok sa mga usapin tungkol sa magiging runningmate ng dating senador Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., sinabi ni Marcos ang kanyang plano at pagtalaga kay Pangulong Duterte bilang running mate sa darating na eleksiyon sa Mayo 9, 2022.
Sa panayam sa media pagkatapos mag-file ng kandidatura sa pagkapangulo sa Commission on Elections, inamin ni Marcos na nagkaroon ng pag-uusap sa Partido Federal ng Pilipinas ang plano na gawing bise ang Pangulo.
Nagkaroon ng agam-agam nang magbigay ng anunsiyo ang Pangulong Duterte na siya ay magreretiro sa pulitika noong nakaraang Sabado, kung kaya’t wala siyang kasamang nag-file ng Certificate of Candidacy para sa Vice President.
“I’d be very candid with you. The reason why (no one filed for vice president under PFP) is this – the original plan was for us to adopt PRRD for our vice presidential candidate, pero sa mga nangyari noong nakaraang Sabado eh nagbago lahat ng plano. Kaya’t ngayon eh nag-consulta kami, ‘yung partido at syempre lahat nung mga ating ibang kasamahan na kung anong dapat gawin , and what do we do now and so that is where it is,” ayon kay Marcos.
Bilang pagpupursige sa pinakamataas na posisyon sa bansa, ang nag-iisang anak at kapangalan ng dating pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, sinabi ni Marcos, na kaya niyang paghilumin ang politically divided, economically-fractured at pandemic-plagued country.
“Join me in this noblest of causes, and we will succeed,” sabi ni Marcos, na kilala bilang “Bongbong” at ngayon nga ay BBM na, sa kanyang tatlong-minutong talumpati.
“If we have learned anything in this time of Covid pandemic, it is that each of us, no matter our station, is in need of help of our fellow Filipinos,” sabi ni Marcos.
Ang 64 taong gulang na kandidato sa pagkapangulo ay ang ika-apat na nagpahayag sa pagtakbo sa pagkapangulo, na may hangaring sumunod kay Pangulong Duterte, na kung saan magtatapos ang termino nito sa susunod na taon.
Ipapahayag niya rin ang kanyang Senate slate sa mga susunod na araw, sa kadahilanang ang roster ng senatorial candidates niya ay kanya pang binubuo.
“Yung sa Senado naman, we will be providing the list of our senatorial candidates in the very near future, within days, within days from now. Kung mapupuno ang, “yung twelve na punong slate I cannot say for sure yet, but at the very least eh siguro we will field seven, eight, or nine candidates. Or baka mabuo pa ‘yung twelve,” sabi ni Marcos.
Ang political career ni Marcos ay inabot na ng tatlong dekada na kung saan siya ay nagsilbing provincial vice governor, governor, congressman at senador.
