GOOD day, mga kapasada! Kumusta po ang buhay?  As always, dalangin po ng pitak na ito ang inyong matiwasay na pamumuhay, ligtas sa anumang masamang birong dulot ng COVID-19. Maging sa mga karatig na lugar (NCR plus) ay nararamdaman na rin ang masikip na daloy ng trapiko. Lumalala pa ito kapag malakas ang ulan at bumabaha ang mga lansangan.  Malaki ang epekto sa ekonomiya ng matinding traffic kaya naman sana ay masolusyunan sa madaling panahon ang problemang matagal nang kinakaharap ng bansa. Hindi nga naman maiiwasan ang traffic, ngunit paano nga ba magiging mabuting driver sa kabila nito? Narito ang ilang hakbang para maging  mabuting driver sa  ganitong panahon.

HUWAG MAKIKIPAG-UNAHAN SA KALSADA

Maging sino ka man ay nagnanais na makarating sa destinasyon ng mas maaga. Ngunit dahil sa traffic, palagi tayong naaantala lalo na kung hindi rin tayo umaalis nang maaga sa ating mga tahanan. May ilang mga driver na para lang makarating kaagad ay nakikipag-unahan sa ibang sasakyan at sumisingit kapag nakakita ng bakante o kaunting malulusutan.  Ayon sa traffic enforcer na ating nakapanayam, kapag nakipag-unahan sa ibang sasakyan at sumingit ka, maaaring maging dahilan ito ng mas matindi pang problemana sa kalye o lansangan. Maaari aniyang ikapahamak ito ng driver. Kaya ang mabuting gawin ay iwasan ang makipag-unahan o sumingit para maiwasan ang disgrasya at ang pagmamaneho ay maging maalwan. Iwasan din ang paglipat ng linya lalo na kung nasa gitna ng kalsada o kalye.

SUNDIN ANG BATAS-TRAPIKO

Marami sa atin na dahil matagal nang nagmamaneho, tumitigas na rin ang ulo.  Pero hindi naman natin nilalahat, may ilan lang o marami-rami lang kumbaga. Kung tutuusin, hindi nga naman maiiwasang makasalamuha tayo ng mga pasaway ring driver.  Pero para maging mabuting driver, payo ng Land Transportation Office (LTO), sumunod sa batas-trapiko. Huwag i-beat ang red light.  Igalang ang mga batas-trapiko.  Iwasan ito.  Maging mabuting driver.  Dahil ang pagiging mabuting driver ay nangangahulugan din ng pagiging mabuting mamamayan.

MAGLAAN NG SAPAT NA DISTANSIYA SA MGA KASABAYANG SASAKYAN

Kapag sobrang traffic, naiinis ang marami sa atin kaya kung  minsan ay idinidikit nila ang kanilang minamaneho sa sinusundang sasakyan. Halos hindi na nag-iiwan ng sapat na distansiya. Hindi porke traffic ay walang nadidisgrasya, marami pa rin ang napapahamak dahil sa kapabayaan sabihin mang hindi halos umuusad ang sasakyan. Para makaiwas sa problema at para maging mabuting driver, maglaan ng tamang distansiya sa mga  katabing sasakyan.  Layon nito ang maiwasang mabunggo ang mga kasabyang sasakyan.

IWASAN ANG PAGTE-TEXT O PAGGAMIT NG GADGET HABANG NAGMAMANEHO

Gaya ng aral mula sa turo ng defensive driving, hindi nga naman nawawala sa pang-araw-araw nating buhay ang paggamit ng celpone o gadgets.  Ngunit kung nagmamaneho ka, iwasan ang paggamit nito nang maiwasan din ang disgrasya sa kalasada. Ang isang driver, ayon sa LTO, ay kinakailangang may maayos na kalusugan bilang pangunahing kuwalipikasyon ng isang mabuting motorista. Kaugnay nito, kailangang sumailalim sa regular physical examination by a competent physician.Kabilang sa physical ailment o karamdamang magsasapanganib sa isang driver ay ang mga sumusunod:

  1. Epilepsy. Maaaring magkaroon ng pangingisay sa panahon ng pagmamaneho na magiging dahilan para mabangga ang minamanehong sasakyan.
  2. Ang anumang karamdamang nakadi-distract ng atensiyon na maaaring makabawas sa kakayahan ng isang nagmamaneho.
  3. Malabong paningin. Kung malabo ang paningin ng isang driver, kailangang magsuot ito ng salamin upang maiwasan ang disgrasya at makita nang maayos ang kalsada at maging ang traffic lighs.
  4. Mahina ang pandinig. Mahirap din ang pagkakaroon ng mahinang pandinig dahil maaaaring hindi marinig ang busina ng mga sasakyang kasabayan sa kalsada.
  5. Addiction to intoxicants o droga. Isa ito sa dapat naiwasan dahil malaki ang epekto nito sa isang tao.
  6. Inaantok o sobrang pagod. Ang pagod ay traidor at kaaway ng matiwasay na pagmamaneho.  Nakakapagpahina ito ng common sense.  Kaya huwag sasagarin ang sarili at magpahinga.

GUMALANG SA KARAPATAN NG KAPWA DRIVER

Bilang driver, marapat lamang na igalan din natin ang karapatan ng kapwa natin driver. Kumbaga, kung anong karapatan ang mayroon tayo ay ganoon din ang karapatang mayroon sila. Iwasan din ang pakikipag-away sa kapwa driver o maging sa pasahero o commuter. Huwag na huwag makikipagbalitaktakan sa kapwa pasahero sa panahon ng pagbabayad ng pasahe sapagkat karapatan ng pasahero na kunin ang sukli kahit ito ay ilang sentimo lamang. Laging tatandaan ang kasabihang “hindi mabubuo ang isang piso kung ito ay kulang kahit isang sentimo.”

RESPETO NG DRIVER SA PULIS-TRAPIKO

Ang mga alagad ng batas trapiko ang nag-aayos ng daloy ng mga sasakyan.  Nararapat na sundin ang kanilang mga senyas.  Iwasan ng driver ang sumasagot ng pabalang-balang sa mga pulis. Hayaang lumapit ang pulis trapiko sa iyo kung ikaw ay nahuli upang maipaliwanag niya ang ginawa mong pagkakamali at paglabag sa batas ng trapiko.
